The Golightly Academy of IT gives students the chance to learn professional technology skills while still in high school.  The curriculum includes a half day of a “traditional” curriculum, and a half day of a technology curriculum.  In addition to teaching IT skills, the Academy of IT also places students in paid internships, and teaches students to present themselves professionally and confidently in the workplace by bringing in speakers from the industry, conducting internship conferences and training for students, organizing job shadowing days, and more!

    7/12/2008 12:00:00 AM

Wow- what a great night last night!  The First Annual Student Recognition Ceremony for the Golightly Academy of IT was the place to be last night -- well, at least for the students, family, faculty, staff, and board members of AOIT!

Special thanks to Montalvo Harris for really spearheading this event -- it's so important to celebrate the success of these GREAT students, and Mr. Harris from Detroit Youth Foundation really made it come together.  Of course, there are many more to thank -- too many to do justice here.  Suffice it to say, that the first Student Recognition Ceremony for AOIT was a great success!
